To lead the equity division by formulating high-level sales strategies, managing senior stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the firm achieves market-share growth and revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Development
- Develop and execute the long-term strategic roadmap for the Equities business in India.
- Identify emerging market opportunities, sector trends, and regulatory shifts (SEBI/RBI) to position the firm ahead of competitors.
- Drive institutional client acquisition, focusing on Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs), Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs), and large family offices.
2 . Sales, Trading & Distribution (Sell-side focus)
- Lead the Institutional Sales and Trading desks to ensure high-quality execution and client service.
- Drive "Block Deals" and "Bulk Deals" by leveraging deep industry networks and corporate access.
- Collaborate with the Research department to ensure the delivery of differentiated, "alpha-generating" investment ideas to clients.
3. Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all activities adhere to SEBI regulations, internal governance frameworks, and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Implement robust operational risk controls to prevent front-running, insider trading, or compliance breaches.
4. Team Mentorship
- Lead and mentor a high-performance team of Fund Managers, Research Analysts, and Traders.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, particularly regarding AI integration in financial modeling and digital literacy.
Candidate Profile
Education : MBA from a premier institute or CA
Experience : 20+ years in Equity markets with atleast 5 years in a senior leadership role
Soft skills : Exceptional negotiation skills, “C-suite” presence, strong relationship skills.
