Domain requirement : 

1. Knowledge of regulation related to TDS on capital gains for NRIs - Understanding the specific withholding tax rates for STCG and LTCG .

2. In-depth knowledge of 15CA and 15CB requirements - Managing the documentation required for the remittance of sale proceeds to bank accounts.

3. In-depth knowledge of NRO / NRE and repatriable and non-repatriable nature of payments - Differentiating between funds that can be moved abroad (NRE/PIS) and those that must stay in India (NRO).

4. Knowledge of applicability of DTAA, taxation on capital gains for foreign nationals - Applying Treaty benefits to prevent double taxation and understanding special tax rates for OCIs/PIOs.

5. Understanding various corporate actions types and impact on capital gains - Adjusting the Cost of Acquisition and Date of Acquisition for bonuses, splits, mergers etc to ensure correct TDS is computed.

6. Thorough knowledge of computation of Capital Gains - Applying FIFO (First-In-First-Out) logic and indexation to arrive at the net taxable gain.

7. Filing requirements of TDS, TDS statements, and other regulatory compliances wrt NRI TDS.

8. Understanding of Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS) and associated regulatory requirements

9. Understanding of NRI-Specific Demat Structures - Distinguishing between Repatriable (NRE) Demat and Non-Repatriable (NRO) Demat accounts.

10. Securities Settlement and Fund settlement. Managing the T+1 settlement cycle specific to NRIs and related coordination

11. SEBI Requirements for NRI Trading Restrictions like Delivery-only trading , F&O Restrictions only on a non-repatriable basis using NRO funds etc..

 

Other Requirement

  1. Preferably a CA having operational experience of atleast 5 years preferably in a brokerage setup
  2. Previous experience of handling NRI TDS profile in a Bank-Broker setup
  3. Handled team size of 20 resources
  4. Good expertise on advanced Ms Excel
  5. Good drafting skills 
  6. Handling regulatory audits
